Production has officially begun on the fifth and final season of Prime Video's hit superhero series "The Boys," as announced by showrunner Eric Kripke. The first episode of the season carries the provocative title "Fifteen Inches of Sheer Dynamite."

The upcoming season promises to deliver an explosive conclusion to the critically acclaimed series, with Kripke hinting at some potentially devastating character deaths. "Anyone who dies in season 5 will richly deserve it," he told TV Guide, suggesting that not all beloved characters will make it to the finale.

While the original comic book series ended with widespread casualties among its main characters, the TV adaptation has often charted its own course. Following the events of the season 4 finale, which saw Billy Butcher embrace his darker tendencies, speculation runs high about the fates of both Butcher and his nemesis Homelander.

The star-studded cast returning for the final season includes Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, and Erin Moriarty. They will be joined by series regulars Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, and Karen Fukuhara. The ensemble also welcomes back Susan Heyward, Valorie Curry, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who joined the show in recent seasons.

As "The Boys" prepares to wrap up its run, fans can expect the series to maintain its signature blend of dark humor, social commentary, and graphic superhero action that has made it one of streaming television's most talked-about shows.
