The 82nd annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony attracted 10.1 million viewers across CBS and streaming platforms, marking a 7% increase from the previous year's broadcast. The awards show, which aired on CBS for the second consecutive year, demonstrated steady growth in viewership following its recent transition from NBC.

Comedian Nikki Glaser made history as the Golden Globes' first solo female host, earning widespread acclaim from critics and audiences alike. Her performance received notably positive reviews, with many praising her vibrant delivery and ability to generate consistent laughs throughout the evening.

The ceremony faced stiff competition from a high-stakes NFL matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions on NBC, which drew 28.5 million viewers. Despite this challenge, the Golden Globes maintained strong numbers, benefiting from its own NFL lead-in with the Chiefs-Broncos game on CBS.

In terms of streaming performance, viewership on Paramount+ and the CBS app showed a 9% improvement compared to last year's figures. The successful broadcast has already sparked discussions about Glaser's potential return as host, with executive producer Glenn Weiss expressing interest in establishing a long-term hosting relationship.

The evening's big winners included "Shōgun" for Best Television Series — Drama, "Hacks" for Best TV Comedy, "The Brutalist" for Best Motion Picture — Drama, and "Emilia Pérez" which dominated with four awards including Best Comedy or Musical Motion Picture. The ceremony also featured the inaugural Cinematic and Box Office Achievement award, which went to "Wicked."

The 2025 ratings continue to show recovery for the Golden Globes following its recent restructuring and network change, though numbers remain below pre-pandemic levels.
