Former "Saturday Night Live" star Pete Davidson has opened up about finding peace after stepping away from the Hollywood spotlight. In a recent interview with W Magazine, the 31-year-old comedian shared his thoughts on fame, mental health, and his new direction in life.

"I'm very happy where I am right now, mentally," Davidson revealed, explaining how taking space from Hollywood has positively impacted his wellbeing. The comedian, who left SNL in 2022 after eight seasons, acknowledged that media scrutiny of his high-profile relationships with celebrities like Ariana Grande and Kim Kardashian influenced his decision to step back from acting.

"I just want to be known for doing good work," Davidson emphasized, expressing his desire to be recognized for his contributions in film, stand-up, charity, and business ventures rather than his dating life. He currently serves as the creative director for sock brand Doublesoul.

Davidson reflected on his early career choices, admitting he initially felt compelled to accept every opportunity. "When you're first coming up and getting all these offers, it's hard to say no, because you're hungry. I made the mistake of doing literally everything," he shared.

Drawing inspiration from established actors, Davidson now believes in a quality-over-quantity approach. He cited Christian Bale and Leonardo DiCaprio as examples of performers who maintain their impact by being selective with projects.

The Staten Island native recently took time for self-care, canceling several stand-up shows in July to check into a wellness facility. Despite scaling back his public presence, Davidson continues working on upcoming films including "The Home," "Riff Raff," and "The Pickup."
