Priscilla Presley recently revealed how she discovered her then-husband Elvis Presley's extramarital affairs - through fan mail that arrived at their Palm Springs home. Speaking at MegaCon Orlando, the 79-year-old shared intimate details about her marriage to the music icon.
During a panel discussion, Priscilla recounted checking the mailbox at their Palm Springs residence, where she found letters from women describing their encounters with Elvis. Some notes thanked him for invitations extended through his friend Charlie Hodge, while others detailed intimate moments spent with the singer.
"Elvis, I had the best night with you. Thank you so much," Priscilla quoted from one of the letters she discovered. The revelations left her realizing that Elvis was "living another life."
The situation was particularly challenging given Elvis' frequent travels to Las Vegas and Palm Springs. Priscilla also spoke about being the only woman in Elvis' predominantly male entourage, making her position even more isolating.
Despite the infidelity that led to their 1973 divorce, Priscilla maintains they ended their marriage "lovingly" and maintained a close friendship afterward. She revealed that Elvis would often make unannounced visits to her home at 2 AM, even while she was dating someone else, and they would spend hours talking in the kitchen.
Looking back on their relationship, Priscilla acknowledged Elvis' loving nature but admitted the lifestyle became unbearable. "He was famous, he was loving, he was a beautiful, beautiful man, [but] I just couldn't take it. It just was not a good life for me," she reflected during the convention.
