The former Saturday Night Live star Pete Davidson recently shared insights about his dating preferences during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, revealing he embraces relationships where women take the lead.
"I'm the girl, I think, whenever I'm in a relationship," Davidson admitted candidly during the January 31 interview. The 31-year-old comedian explained this dynamic stems from his upbringing in a household dominated by women, which has influenced how he approaches relationships.
When host Drew Barrymore inquired about men's reception to assertive women making the first move, Davidson expressed his appreciation for such confidence. "I do [like assertiveness], because I grew up with all ladies in the house, so I act pretty feminine," he explained.
The comedian, known for his high-profile relationships with celebrities like Ariana Grande and Kim Kardashian, has recently expressed his desire to shift public focus away from his dating life. In a December 2024 interview with W Magazine, Davidson emphasized his professional aspirations: "I want to be out there only when it's movie, stand-up, charity, or business ventures. I don't want to be this f---ing loser who just dates people."
During the same appearance, Davidson also touched upon his mother's personal life, revealing she hasn't dated since losing his firefighter father during 9/11. "She's never dated. It's been 22, 23 years since my dad passed," he shared, adding that he now hopes she finds companionship.
The candid conversation showcased a more vulnerable side of Davidson, highlighting how his family dynamics have shaped his approach to relationships and his evolving perspective on public perception.
