Mary Schmucker, beloved star of TLC's "Breaking Amish" and "Return to Amish," has passed away at age 65 following a two-year battle with colon cancer. She died at her Pennsylvania home on Friday, March 28, due to cancer complications.

According to her son Andrew Schmucker, who spoke with TMZ, Mary was briefly hospitalized in the week before her death. He is currently traveling from Arkansas to Pennsylvania, and the family has been notified of her passing.

The reality TV personality first captured audiences' hearts when she appeared on "Breaking Amish" in 2012, later joining the spinoff "Return to Amish" in 2014. The shows documented the experiences of Amish individuals exploring life outside their traditional communities.

Mary stepped away from television in March 2022, announcing her departure during an Instagram Live session. Shortly after, in April 2022, she revealed her cancer diagnosis through her private Tupperware sales Facebook group and underwent surgery that same month.

In November 2024, Mary's daughter-in-law Rebecca Schmucker shared a concerning update about her declining health, noting that she had been placed under hospice care due to severe pain and difficulty eating. Rebecca requested prayers and positive messages for Mary's comfort during her final months.

Throughout her television career, Mary became a cherished figure among fans for her genuine personality and memorable presence on both TLC shows. Her passing marks the end of an era for the "Breaking Amish" community and its devoted viewers.

Mary's final social media activity was limited following her diagnosis, with her last public interactions including a shared post about cursive writing education and support for a family fundraiser.
