Ben Affleck has begun taking steps back into the dating scene following his recent divorce from Jennifer Lopez, according to an exclusive source. The former couple was officially declared legally single by the Los Angeles County Superior Court on February 21, marking the end of their two-year marriage.

"Ben's casually dating," the insider revealed to PEOPLE, though noting it's not currently a primary focus for the actor. The 52-year-old star has been dedicating most of his time to his professional commitments and family responsibilities.

"If he's not filming, he spends long days at his office," the source shared, adding that Affleck maintains a close relationship with his three children from his previous marriage to Jennifer Garner - Violet Anne, 19, Seraphina Rose, 16, and Samuel, 12. The source emphasized his particularly strong bond with his youngest child Samuel.

The divorce settlement, reached on January 6, came after Lopez filed for divorce in August 2024, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple had rekindled their romance in 2021, married in Las Vegas in July 2022, and celebrated with a Georgia ceremony the following month.

As part of the settlement, the former couple will share profits from their Beverly Hills mansion once sold. Lopez, who filed without legal representation, requested no spousal support for either party and asked for her former name, Jennifer Lynn Lopez, to be restored.

Meanwhile, Affleck remains focused on his career with several upcoming projects. His film "The Accountant 2" is set to premiere at SXSW Film Festival on March 8, followed by a theatrical release in April. He's also starring alongside Matt Damon in the Netflix thriller "RIP," which he describes as a blend of "Heat," "Narc," and "Training Day".

The news comes as Lopez continues her successful world tour, recently performing to a sold-out crowd in Abu Dhabi, where she showed emotional moments on stage following the court's declaration of their single status.
