Amanda Seyfried recently shared a memorable experience from her Wicked audition process, specifically highlighting a special moment when she sang alongside Cynthia Erivo.

During an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the Mamma Mia! actress opened up about her audition for the role of Glinda. While Seyfried ultimately didn't land the part, she spoke positively about the experience, particularly about her vocal preparation.

"I've never felt that solid in my voice than I did at the auditions," Seyfried told host Josh Horowitz. The actress, now 39, emphasized how the opportunity to perform with Erivo during the process was particularly noteworthy, describing it as "a moment in itself."

The revelation comes months after Erivo, who stars in the upcoming film, made comments about her relief when Ariana Grande was cast as Glinda. In a November 2024 interview with The New York Times, Erivo had mentioned her gratitude that "it was not the two ladies that I was auditioning with" who got the role.

Despite not securing the part, Seyfried maintains a positive outlook, sharing that her family still enjoys singing "Defying Gravity" daily. "I do think everything happens for a reason," she reflected.

Fans can currently catch Seyfried in Long Bright River on Peacock, while Erivo's Wicked: For Good is set to hit theaters on November 21, 2025.
