Actor Adam Scott recently revealed that he hasn't watched an episode of Parks & Recreation in quite some time because it stirs up emotional memories of his time on the beloved NBC comedy series.
During an appearance on Josh Horowitz's Happy Sad Confused podcast, the 51-year-old actor opened up about his reluctance to revisit the show. "It makes me sad to see the show, because I miss them and I miss all the actors," Scott explained, referring to his former castmates.
Despite the cast maintaining regular contact through a group text chain, Scott expressed nostalgia for the daily experience of working together. "It was a really just joyful five years — for me, seven years for the show — getting to go work there every day with that group of people," he shared.
The mockumentary-style series, which ran from 2009 to 2015, featured an ensemble cast including Amy Poehler, Chris Pratt, Aziz Ansari, Nick Offerman, Rashida Jones, Aubrey Plaza, Rob Lowe, Jim O'Heir, and Retta.
When asked about the possibility of a reboot, the Severance star noted that the series finale, which jumped ahead in time, provided a satisfying conclusion. "The series finale kind of took us to the end... I'm not sure what else there is to add," Scott remarked.
The actor previously told PEOPLE that the cast remains close, with weekly interactions through their group chat. He emphasized that during production, the cast never took their experience for granted, saying, "No one was sick of going to work... Everyone got that it was special."
The series left a lasting impact not only on its cast but also on viewers. "We had so much fun and we're making something that meant something to people; it meant something to us," Scott reflected during the podcast interview.
