Fox has announced that quiz competition series "The 1% Club" will return exclusively on the network for its second season, with Joel McHale stepping in as the new host. The show previously aired on both Fox and Amazon Prime Video during its first season with Patton Oswalt as host.
The game show features 100 contestants competing for a $100,000 prize by answering increasingly challenging questions that test logic, reasoning, and common sense. Contestants face elimination throughout the episode until one remains to tackle the final question that only 1% of the country can answer correctly.
For McHale, this marks his third current project with Fox, alongside his starring role in the sitcom "Animal Control" and hosting duties on "Crime Scene Kitchen." The actor, known for NBC's "Community" and E!'s "The Soup," expressed his enthusiasm about joining the show.
"I am 1,000,000% excited to be partnering with Fox to host 'The 1% Club,'" McHale said. "I absolutely love the show and love the game play to the 10𝑥 and guarantee my hair, makeup and wardrobe will look great at least 68% of the time."
The show, based on a British format created by Dean Nabarro and Andy Auerbach, has seen international success with versions launching in multiple countries including Netherlands, Australia, Germany, and France. BBC Studios Los Angeles Productions and Magnum Media produce the U.S. version, with Wes Kauble serving as showrunner.
The second season of "The 1% Club" is scheduled to air during Fox's 2025-26 season.
