The historic Malibu family home of actor Jeff Bridges has been destroyed in the devastating Palisades Fire that continues to ravage parts of Los Angeles. The property, originally purchased by Bridges' parents decades ago, was shared among the actor and his siblings Beau Bridges and their sister.

The Oscar-winning star of "The Big Lebowski" and "True Grit" primarily resides in Santa Barbara with his wife Susan Geston, but the lost Malibu property held deep family significance. The destruction was confirmed Thursday by Bridges' representative to The Hollywood Reporter.

The Bridges residence wasn't the only notable casualty of the blaze. Nearby, the home of Candy Spelling, which she shared with late TV producer Aaron Spelling for half a century, also succumbed to the flames. "I'm in shock and processing this massive loss for our family," Spelling expressed.

Several other entertainment industry figures have reported losing their homes to the wildfires, including Mandy Moore, Billy Crystal, Anna Faris, Paris Hilton, and James Woods.

The Palisades Fire, which began Tuesday in Pacific Palisades before spreading to Malibu and Santa Monica, remains completely uncontained according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. The situation is further complicated by multiple active fires in the L.A. area, including the Eaton and Woodley fires, which are also at zero percent containment.

Adding to the region's firefighting challenges, a new blaze dubbed the Kenneth Fire erupted Thursday in West Hills, California, threatening communities in Calabasas and Hidden Hills. By early evening, this fire had consumed approximately 800 acres, intensified by strong Santa Ana winds.
