The iconic filmmaker John Carpenter, known for revolutionizing the horror genre with classics like "Halloween" and "The Thing," will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this spring.

The ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, April 3, 2025, at 11:30 AM PT, where Carpenter's star will be unveiled at 7000 Hollywood Boulevard in front of the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. This will mark the 2,806th star on the prestigious walkway.

"He has forever shaped the horror genre and has created lasting cinematic masterpieces," said Ana Martinez, Hollywood Walk of Fame Producer. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Steve Nissen will host the dedication ceremony, which will be streamed live on WalkofFame.com.

Carpenter's remarkable career spans over four decades, during which he directed numerous influential films including "Assault on Precinct 13," "The Fog," "Escape from New York," and "They Live." Beyond directing, he has demonstrated his versatility as a screenwriter and music composer, having scored many of his own films and the recent "Halloween" sequel trilogy.

The filmmaker joins an elite group of entertainment industry professionals honored since 1960 on this cultural landmark, which attracts millions of visitors annually. His star will be awarded in the Motion Pictures category, recognizing his outstanding contributions to cinema.

This recognition comes as part of the Hollywood Chamber's Board of Directors' announcement of over thirty new stars to be added to the Walk of Fame in 2025 and early 2026.
