HBO's Head of Drama Series and Films, Francesca Orsi, recently shared updates about the highly anticipated third season of 'The White Lotus' and other upcoming HBO dramas during an interview at The White Lotus Season 3 premiere.
Speaking about the next installment of Mike White's hit anthology series, Orsi expressed enthusiasm about the creative direction. While specific plot details remain under wraps, she conveyed confidence in the upcoming season's development.
In addition to 'The White Lotus' updates, Orsi discussed several other major HBO projects slated for release in 2025 and beyond. The network's fantasy drama 'House of the Dragon' is preparing to begin production on its third season, with Orsi highlighting an ambitious battle sequence that promises to surpass previous seasons.
"I was just on set and saw all the elements and what was behind it," Orsi noted regarding the 'House of the Dragon' battle scene. "It's going to be better than ever." She revealed that one of the lead producers, who previously worked on 'Titanic', is bringing that expertise to the production.
Orsi also shared positive news about 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms', based on George R.R. Martin's Dunk and Egg novellas. The series, starring Peter Claffey and Dexter Sol Ansell, has received strong internal feedback, with HBO considering filming seasons 2 and 3 back-to-back.
The network is also developing additional Game of Thrones spinoffs, including a promising project focused on the Targaryen lineage, though details remain confidential at this time.
This robust lineup of programming demonstrates HBO's continued commitment to delivering high-quality dramatic content across various genres and formats.
