PEOPLE magazine has unveiled exclusive first-look images from the upcoming second season of the Yellowstone prequel series '1923', featuring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren returning as Jacob and Cara Dutton.
The newly released photos show the legendary actors in emotionally charged scenes, with one striking image capturing the couple sitting thoughtfully on a bench at their Montana ranch. The images hint at the intense challenges facing the Dutton family during a harsh winter season.
The second season follows Jacob and Cara as they defend their ranch against mounting threats to their family legacy. Meanwhile, their nephew Spencer (Brandon Sklenar) races back to Montana to help save his family, while his wife Alexandra embarks on her own dangerous journey across the Atlantic to reunite with him.
Brandon Sklenar, who plays Spencer Dutton, shared insights about working alongside Ford and Mirren. "To see people at their level maintain such a deep level of humility and humanity and kindness is something that I'll take with me forever," he told PEOPLE.
The actor also expressed his excitement about the upcoming season, describing it as "the most fun I've had as an actor in my life" and promising fans that "it's going to be absolutely incredible."
The new season sees the return of the full ensemble cast, including Michelle Randolph, Jerome Flynn, Aminah Nieves, Julia Schlaepfer, Timothy Dalton, and others. Set against the backdrop of Western Expansion, Prohibition, and the Great Depression, the series continues to explore the rich history of the Dutton family dynasty.
'1923' Season 2, which will be the final season of the series, is scheduled to premiere in 2025 on Paramount+.
