In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Fast & Furious star Jordana Brewster shared her perspective on the well-documented tension between franchise heavyweights Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson, comparing their relationship to typical family dynamics.

"When we keep talking about family, Fast is about family," Brewster explained. "Families are also dysfunctional, and we've got the drama." Her comments came following Diesel's surprising shoutout to Johnson at the January 5th Golden Globes ceremony, which sparked widespread attention given their history of reported conflicts.

The friction between Diesel and Johnson became public knowledge in 2016 when Johnson posted a now-deleted Instagram message criticizing unnamed male co-stars during the filming of The Fate of the Furious. This eventually led to Johnson stepping away from the main franchise in 2021, though he made a brief appearance in 2023's Fast X.

Brewster, who plays Mia Toretto in the series, also discussed Diesel's creative involvement in the upcoming Fast X: Part 2. "Vin's so invested in the franchise and so creative that things are always bubbling up," she shared, carefully avoiding any plot spoilers.

Recently, Diesel shared on social media that Brewster had requested the remaining production of Fast X: Part 2 take place in Los Angeles, marking a return to where the franchise began 25 years ago. The move aims to support the city's recovery following recent wildfires.

As the Fast & Furious saga approaches what may be its final chapter, Brewster's comments highlight how the franchise's off-screen relationships mirror its on-screen themes of family - complete with all the complications that come with it.
