Emmy Award-winning actor Sterling K. Brown has disclosed that he declined what could have been a major antagonist role in the hit superhero series "The Boys."

In a recent interview with Variety, Brown shared that he had to pass on what would have been a season-long villain arc in the Prime Video show. While the specific character wasn't revealed, the actor admitted the role was "very tempting."

"But a full-season arc, they are in Toronto — it's tough," Brown explained, acknowledging these as "champagne problems." The actor's existing commitments and ability to be selective with his projects influenced his decision.

The declined role would have reunited Brown with showrunner Eric Kripke, who previously worked with him on "Supernatural." Despite turning down "The Boys," Brown maintains an interest in superhero projects, expressing enthusiasm about potentially returning to the Marvel universe, where he previously portrayed N'Jobu in "Black Panther."

Brown's current schedule includes multiple upcoming projects, including the Hulu series "Paradise" where he serves as both lead actor and executive producer. He's also involved in several films, including a live-action "Voltron" movie alongside Henry Cavill.

While fans might wonder about what could have been, Brown's careful project selection reflects his position as one of Hollywood's most sought-after actors, with three Emmy wins under his belt for different productions, including his acclaimed role in "This Is Us."
