Friends of music legend Elton John has lost his eyesight have expressed deep concern about his demanding schedule and deteriorating health, particularly as he battles ongoing vision problems.

The 76-year-old icon recently revealed he has been unable to see from his right eye for four months, while his left eye is also experiencing complications from a serious infection. During the London premiere of "The Devil Wears Prada" last Sunday, John needed assistance from his husband David Furnish to navigate the stage.

"I can't see it, but I love to hear it," the "Rocket Man" singer candidly shared with the audience, adding that the vision impairment has impacted his ability to work in the studio, as he struggles to read lyrics.

Despite completing his massive 330-date "Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour," John has maintained an intense work schedule, including involvement in Broadway's "Tammy Faye" and "The Devil Wears Prada" productions.

"The whole point of his farewell tour was that he would be home more once it finished, but he is still working to an intense schedule," a close source told The US Sun. The insider added that several people in John's inner circle have urged him to reduce his workload, noting his declining health in recent years.

During the West End debut, John expressed heartfelt gratitude to his husband Furnish, describing him as his "rock" throughout the production process. While there's hope for improvement in his vision, the duration of his recovery remains uncertain.

The combination of his persistent health challenges and rigorous work commitments has prompted those closest to the musical icon to voice their apprehensions about his well-being, suggesting it might be time for the legendary performer to prioritize his health over his numerous professional endeavors.
