Wilson Bethel, who plays Bullseye in the upcoming 'Daredevil: Born Again,' has revealed that the new series will acknowledge the five-year gap since the original Netflix show concluded, allowing characters to evolve naturally with their actors.
Speaking at Fan Expo San Francisco alongside Charlie Cox, Bethel discussed how the time jump will impact the characters when they return to Hell's Kitchen. The actor, who has since starred in OWN's legal drama 'All Rise' and ventured into directing, explained that the show will reflect both the characters' and actors' journeys during the intervening years.
"The show doesn't pick up the day after we last saw it. It picks up five years later," Bethel explained during the panel. He emphasized that this time gap allows the characters to have experienced life changes that mirror the actors' own personal growth and experiences.
The revival will see the return of fan-favorite characters including Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson), Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll), and The Punisher (Jon Bernthal), all of whom will be in different places compared to where Season 3 left off.
Bethel noted that the natural aging process and real-life experiences of the cast members will add depth to their performances. "These are characters who have all lived five years of life and all of the twists and turns that you take in the meantime," he said, adding that actors can incorporate their own personal journeys into their roles.
'Daredevil: Born Again' is scheduled to premiere in March, promising to build upon the foundation laid by the Netflix series while acknowledging the passage of time both on and off screen.
