As Netflix's hit series 'Cobra Kai' approaches its conclusion, star Ralph Macchio hints at an exciting finale that will pay homage to classic 1980s films. The final five episodes of season 6 are set to premiere on February 13, 2025.

"You need to hit the bottom to come back up, and that's kind of where we are," Macchio revealed during a recent panel at Sony Pictures Entertainment. "It is set up to embrace that big '80s movie ending that I have a feeling we will find and go forward."

His co-star William Zabka, who plays Johnny Lawrence, shares similar enthusiasm about the show's conclusion. "This is the right time to end it and the right way to end it," Zabka stated. "The producers stick the landing in a way that's unexpected, uplifting, and honest."

The series recently shocked viewers with a dramatic turn of events in its tenth episode, where a young karate master unexpectedly died during a global tournament. Show creator Jon Hurwitz explained this wasn't merely for shock value, but rather to set up the final episodes: "We wanted to make it unpredictable going forward. We have all these characters that we've been following for all these years and this tournament meant so much to all of them."

While 'Cobra Kai' may be ending, fans can look forward to seeing Macchio reprise his role as Daniel LaRusso in the upcoming "Karate Kid: Legends" film alongside Jackie Chan. Reflecting on his four-decade journey with the character, Macchio noted, "I've walked the streets in these shoes for 40 plus years. I always talk about honesty and truth in the character, and that's always what I'm looking for."

The series finale promises to bring closure to the long-running saga while honoring the spirit of the original 'Karate Kid' films that started it all.
