The BBC has confirmed there will be no second season of the critically acclaimed drama series 'Boiling Point', despite its overwhelming success with both viewers and critics.

The four-part series, which aired in October 2023, was a continuation of the 2021 film of the same name. The show followed the story of Carly (Vinette Robinson) as head chef at Point North restaurant, taking over from Andy (Stephen Graham) after his dramatic collapse at the end of the film.

Receiving a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes and widespread praise from critics, the series maintained the high-intensity atmosphere of its film predecessor. Reviews highlighted its ability to create nail-biting tension from everyday kitchen scenarios, with the Irish Independent describing it as "worth every stomach-clenching, nail-biting moment."

An insider source revealed to The Sun that the production team was disappointed by the decision, noting the rare combination of both viewer and critic appreciation the show achieved. However, they suggested the possibility of a future revival, stating that if "the right story or idea comes along," the show could potentially return to screens.

The series concluded with Carly accepting a wedding booking to secure the restaurant's financial future, leaving several storylines open for potential continuation. While 'Boiling Point' may have reached its end for now, fans can look forward to a new collaboration between Stephen Graham and director Philip Barantini, expected to release in 2025.
