Netflix's political drama has joined forces with France's TF1 Group and Newen Studios to create its first French daily drama series, marking a major milestone in French television production.
The upcoming series titled "Tout Pour La Lumière" (All for Light) will be a family saga centered around music and dance. The show will begin filming in 2025 in the Mediterranean town of La Ciotat and at studio sets in Marseille's La Belle de Mai.
In an innovative distribution approach, the series will premiere on Netflix five days before airing on TF1's free-to-air channel and its VOD platform TF1+. Newen Studios will handle production and co-financing duties.
The creative team includes writers Coline Assous, Yentl Coubes, and Maxime Cormier, with Céline François serving as producer under the supervision of Stéphanie Brémond, Newen Studios' Deputy General Director of continuing drama.
"This will allow French Netflix subscribers to tune in to a daily drama, a first in France," said Pauline Dauvin, Vice President of Content at Netflix France. The partnership aims to expand audience reach while supporting artistic creation in the French entertainment industry.
Pierre Branco, Newen Studios CEO, expressed enthusiasm about bringing their expertise in continuing drama to this unique collaboration, while TF1 Group's Ara Aprikian highlighted how the project demonstrates new ways to finance and distribute content to reach wider audiences.
This venture represents Netflix's growing interest in daily soap formats, following similar initiatives in other territories such as Spain's "Valle Salvaje." The move aligns with the streaming giant's strategy to establish itself as a mainstream media platform through diverse content offerings.
