MSNBC is preparing for a major overhaul of its programming schedule across all time slots, as newly appointed president Rebecca Kutler leads sweeping changes at the cable news network.

The reorganization will affect shows during primetime, daytime, and weekends, with several high-profile changes expected. Among the most notable shifts, Joy Reid's 7 p.m. program will be canceled and replaced by a new panel show featuring Symone Sanders, Michael Steele, and Alicia Menendez, who currently co-host MSNBC's The Weekend.

Former White House press secretary Jen Psaki is set to expand her presence on the network. Psaki, who currently hosts "Inside with Jen Psaki" on Mondays at 8 p.m., will receive additional airtime during the week. The 9 p.m. slot may become available for Psaki when Rachel Maddow returns to her once-weekly schedule in April. Alex Wagner, who had been filling in for Maddow, will transition to a correspondent role.

The network is also expected to bring in new talent, including Politico's Eugene Daniels and NYU's Melissa Murray, who are likely to receive shows or prominent roles at the channel.

These changes come as MSNBC prepares to separate from NBC News as part of Comcast's upcoming cable channels spin-off. To support this transition, Kutler is building out the leadership team with new positions including head of talent, head of newsgathering, Washington bureau chief, and head of content strategy.

During a recent staff meeting, Kutler emphasized the opportunity to build a new news organization, stating, "We have a new company, we have new leadership, we will have new offices, and we have a non-stop news cycle." She highlighted the unique chance to shape the network's future as it establishes itself as an independent entity.
