The Screen Actors Guild has announced that acclaimed actress Kristen Bell will return as host for the 31st annual SAG Awards ceremony in 2025. The announcement came on Monday, December 15, marking Bell's second time hosting the prestigious event after her historic role as the show's first-ever host in 2018.
Bell, currently starring in the Netflix series "Nobody Wants This," expressed her excitement in a statement: "Thrilled to be hosting the SAG Awards again this year. I'm honored to be asked back and can't wait to share the evening with my fellow actors, doing what we do best... celebrating ourselves."
SAG Awards Executive Producer Jon Brockett praised Bell's selection, noting her "wit, warmth and charm" as perfect qualities for the celebration of acting achievements. The choice of Bell aligns with Netflix's vision for the awards show in its second year on the streaming platform.
Adding to the evening's anticipation, legendary actress and activist Jane Fonda will receive the SAG Life Achievement Award, the guild's highest honor, during the ceremony.
The event will feature additional star power as Bell herself could potentially be nominated in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series category for her role in "Nobody Wants This," for which she has already received Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards nominations.
The nominations for the 2025 SAG Awards will be announced on January 8, 2025. The ceremony will stream live from the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles on Netflix, Sunday, February 23, 2025, at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.
Silent House Productions will produce the event, which promises to celebrate the year's most outstanding performances in film and television.
