Actor Jeremy Renner marked a poignant milestone on January 1, 2024, celebrating what he calls his "ReBirthday" - the second anniversary of surviving a devastating snowplow accident that nearly claimed his life.

The "Mayor of Kingstown" star, 53, shared an emotional Instagram post featuring a photo of himself surrounded by his medical team during his hospital stay. In his heartfelt message, Renner expressed profound gratitude to the extensive network of healthcare professionals who aided in his recovery.

"I literally owe you my life," Renner wrote, acknowledging the nurses, doctors, and first responders who treated him. He also praised his nephew and neighbors who provided critical assistance during the 45-minute ordeal on that fateful New Year's morning in 2023.

The accident occurred near Renner's mountain home close to Reno, where he was operating a seven-ton snowplow to clear roads after a blizzard. While attempting to protect his nephew from the rolling vehicle, Renner became trapped underneath the massive machine, sustaining severe injuries including a collapsed lung, lacerated liver, and over 30 broken bones.

Following two weeks of hospitalization, Renner faced a challenging recovery period, spending a month bedridden before learning to walk again. His determination and spirit remained unwavering throughout the ordeal, as he previously stated in an interview with Diane Sawyer, "I chose to survive."

In his anniversary post, Renner reflected on the overwhelming support he received: "With the amount of love and prayers that flooded in from you all around the world, my family never leaving my side, with some divine intervention, a bit of luck and a whole lot of miracles... I stand strong again."

The actor concluded his message with renewed perspective, describing himself as "More Open. More Loved. More Connected," and expressing gratitude for every step forward in his recovery journey.
