Adam Sandler has announced that the highly anticipated sequel "Happy Gilmore 2" has wrapped production and is targeting a July release date. The actor shared the news during his appearance on The Dan Patrick Show, where he also revealed several exciting cameos in the upcoming film.

Among the notable appearances, rap icon Eminem joins the cast in an undisclosed role. Sandler praised the rapper's comedic abilities, saying, "He came in and was funny as hell." The actor mentioned that they spent an entire day filming with Eminem, capturing numerous usable takes.

The star-studded sequel features an impressive lineup of professional golfers, including golf legend Jack Nicklaus, whom Sandler described as "awesome" to work with. Current PGA Tour stars Jordan Spieth, Xander Schauffele, Ricky Fowler, Collin Morikawa, and Keegan Bradley will also appear in the film. Adding to the sports celebrity roster, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and PGA Tour Champions golfer John Daly have secured roles in the production.

Fans of the original 1996 comedy will be pleased to know that Christopher McDonald and Julie Bowen are returning to reprise their roles as Shooter McGavin and Gilmore's love interest, respectively. The Dan Patrick Show host himself will make a cameo, continuing his tradition of appearing in Sandler's films after previous roles in "Hustle," "Just Go With It," and "Grown Ups."

The original "Happy Gilmore" followed Sandler's character, a failed hockey player who discovers his powerful slapshot translates into an extraordinary golf drive, leading him to pursue a career in professional golf.

The sequel promises to bring together sports stars, entertainment icons, and beloved characters from the original film when it hits theaters this summer.
