In a heartfelt CNN interview with Christiane Amanpour, actress Demi Moore provided an update on her ex-husband Bruce Willis's health condition, sharing both challenges and moments of grace as the family navigates his frontotemporal dementia (FTD) diagnosis.
Moore, 62, revealed that Willis, 69, is currently in a "very stable place," while emphasizing the importance of meeting patients with FTD where they are in their journey. "From that place, there is such loving and joy," she expressed during the interview.
The actress acknowledged the difficulties of watching someone cope with the progressive condition, describing it as "not what I would wish upon anyone." However, she also highlighted the unexpected positive aspects that have emerged, noting "there is also great beauty and gifts that can come out of it."
Moore and Willis, who were married from 1987 to 2000, share three daughters - Rumer, 36, Scout, 33, and Tallulah, 30. Willis later married Emma Heming Willis, with whom he has two daughters, Mabel, 12, and Evelyn, 10.
The family first announced Willis's aphasia diagnosis in March 2022, which later progressed to FTD. Throughout this health journey, both Moore and Emma Heming Willis have maintained a united front in supporting the actor.
Speaking about their continued family bond, Moore emphasized their commitment to remaining a family unit, albeit in an evolved form. "We're a family, and we'll always be a family, just in a different form," she said, expressing gratitude for everyone's willingness to come together during this challenging time.
The interview offers a glimpse into how the blended family continues to support Willis while adapting to the changes brought on by his condition, demonstrating their resilience and dedication to maintaining their family bonds despite the circumstances.
