Actress Aubrey Plaza has deleted her Instagram account in the wake of her husband Jeff Baena's tragic passing. The 47-year-old writer and director died by suicide on January 3, 2024.

Visitors to Plaza's Instagram page are now met with the message "Sorry, this page isn't available" and notification that the page may have been removed.

In a joint statement released through PEOPLE magazine, Plaza and Baena's family requested privacy during this difficult time, expressing gratitude for the support they've received following what they described as an "unimaginable tragedy."

The couple's relationship began in 2011, with their marriage remaining private until May 2021, when Plaza casually revealed their union by referring to Baena as her "darling husband" in a social media post.

The creative pair frequently collaborated professionally, with Baena directing Plaza in the zombie comedy "Life After Beth," which marked his directorial debut. Their professional partnership extended to the Showtime anthology series "Cinema Toast" in 2021, where Plaza made her own directorial debut.

In previous interviews, Plaza spoke warmly about their working relationship, noting the unique understanding they shared as industry professionals. While acknowledging the challenges of working with a spouse, she emphasized the importance of maintaining individual careers alongside their collaborative projects.

Baena was an accomplished filmmaker with numerous directing and writing credits to his name. The couple had been open about balancing their personal and professional lives, with Plaza previously highlighting how their careers allowed them to maintain independence while supporting each other's creative endeavors.
