Ridley Scott finally returning to SCIFI!

June 6th, 2008

Eclipse Magazine published a really interesting article with Ridley Scott talking about how Andromeda Strain that was shown on A&E earlier this month was the perfect vehicle for him to get back into science fiction.

Scott is the director of one of the most important science fiction films of the 1980s with Blade Runner. The style and look of it influenced many films in years to come. Blade Runner is now available in a 5 disk special edition that is eye popping on Blu-Ray- a must see if you have not checked it out yet. Scott also helmed Alien- who can forget that dinner scene?

Andromeda was a television event with big name tv stars and a really strong remake of the 1970s classic written by Michael Crichton. You may be familiar with some of Crichton’s other work- he wrote this little book called Jurassic Park and is executive producer of ER. Yes that is not only a note but a whole bar of sarcasm. Scott likes making movies that make people think. He is a big history buff and loves the series Numbers. He says he has found a book he really likes though and it is science fiction and will be his next project after finishing his current one  Notingham which is filming in England right now.
