Here is the first trailer for the new season of Eureka.
Buffy and Angel alum Charisma Carpenter stars along with Stargate SG-1 alum Corin Nemec in the SyFy movie of the week.

From Bullet Films- here is the official film description:
Directed By: Jeffery Lando
Starring: Charisma Carpenter Marcus Brown Collin Galyean Ricky Wayne A cheesy reality television show about haunted houses is being filmed at an old plantation home. Although the producers initially deny claims from their psychic special guest Heather (Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s Charisma Carpenter) that this house is actually haunted, a series of mysterious events suggests otherwise. Missing persons, inexplicable sightings of ghosts, and the deaths of the crew not only prove that this house is haunted, but seems to be alive. When pompous show host Quentin (Corin Nemec of Stargate SG-1) arrives to the house, he is warned of the happenings and attempts to save his colleagues. Trapped inside by the house itself, the remaining producers and crew must learn of the house’s gruesome past in order to defeat the evil forces and escape the house alive.

Destination Truth – Alien Encounter?

“If it was easy, this would be someone else’s show.”
Somewhere along the way something odd has happened this season but I think that “Destination Truth” has surpassed “Ghost Hunters” as my favorite reality TV series. Considering that I’ve been a fan of both “Ghost Hunters” shows since they both premiered, this is a rather shocking development for me.
This season is seriously rocking for “Destination Truth” and I think it comes from a shake-up with how they’re presenting the series. They’ve taken on the “Ghost Hunters” approach and are introducing us to more members of their team this season which helps to take the focus entirely off of host Josh Gates and instead has provided us with a series that rather reminds me of what would’ve happened had Fox Mulder been given a reality/adventure/travel show and told to televise his crazy cases along with a team of equally crazy adventurers. (Think more athletic versions of the Lone Gunmen and one often terrified young woman named Jael.) Combine the expanded team members with hysterical adventures getting to and from their final destinations and you’ve got television gold. It’s always exciting to see exactly what the team will be driving each week – will their transportation break down or fall apart?
Last night Josh and his team headed to Chile looking for extra-terrestrials and to Turkey to look for a sea monster. During each of these adventures Josh and his team member Bisha partook in receiving local barbering experiences. Josh got a South American cut that he was less than delighted about, “Yes, please accentuate my bald spot.” Whereas Bisha got his beard shaved and was given a full blown mustache that made him look rather like a Middle Eastern hit-man or pimp.
Their first stop in South America took them on a long ass car ride to Chile where they finally arrived at a series of underground mines where the team had to climb down into the mine shaft. Reports varied from strange beings living in the mines to bright mysterious lights that appeared out of nowhere.
I’m personally not a cave person and get highly claustrophobic, seeing Josh trying to navigate his 6’ plus frame around in those short tunnels was uncomfortable to watch. As they were exploring the tunnels one of the camera men caused a sink hole to appear in the ground, upon further investigation Josh discovered that something was buried inside of it. They exhumed a skull-less ½ decomposing carcass of unknown origin. The thing was shrouded in fabric, had weird webbed looking feet and no hands. When they later took photos of it back to the US two different biologists were stumped in trying to determine its identity. It’s too bad that Josh couldn’t have swabbed the remains for a full DNA analysis.
The second odd thing that happened was Josh spotted a bright light in the tunnels, followed it, and was led outside. There the light shot across a huge crevasse pulsed and eventually vanished. While he and a couple of his team members were staring at the light, one of the guys carried their parabolic dish that picks up sounds from long distances. The dish was turned OFF and it began emitting a series of very strange electronic sounds. The dish wasn’t designed to emit sounds but to absorb them. Overall it was a lot of weirdness that couldn’t be explained.
Their second adventure took them to a lake that bordered on Iran and Turkey that was roughly the size of Rhode Island. In it was supposed to live a massive creature. Josh and his team spent the night in sleet and rain on the water trying to track it. They found some large water ripples, once Josh thought that something banged into his boat, a couple of weird hits on the thermal, but nothing concrete to prove to them that the lake was home to Nessie’s Middle Eastern cousin.
Next week they’re heading to the Bermuda triangle – you just have to know that no good could possibly come from that. Be sure to check it out next Wed at 10PM after “Ghost Hunters” on SyFy. Be sure to follow Josh on Twitter!

PASADENA, Calif. – August 5, 2009 – Syfy announced today that it will re-team with director/producer Bryan Singer (Superman Returns, X-Men) who executive produced the Channel’s 2005 miniseries The Triangle and producer Andrew Deane (Masters of Horror, Masters of Science Fiction, Fear Itself) and Keith Addis to develop an untitled 6-hour limited series to be written by Michael Petroni (Chronicles of Narnia: The Dawn Treader, Masters of Science Fiction: The Awakening, Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys) and Michael Bond (Passengers).
The announcement was made by Mark Stern, Executive Vice President, Original Content, Syfy & Co-Head, Original Content, Universal Cable Productions. Syfy is developing the project with Singer’s Bad Hat Harry Productions and Addis and Deane of Industry Entertainment.
The project will be a thrilling action-adventure story blending scientific fact and myth with popular conspiracy theories centering on the Mayan Calendar and what it predicts for mankind at its end date. With a feel of DaVinci Code and National Treasure, it tells the story of a down-on-his-luck author/professor who goes on a worldwide adventure to uncover the mysteries surrounding the Mayan Calendar and the potential apocalypse it seems to have predicted centuries ago. With an unlikely team, he races against time to prevent global catastrophe, and in doing so, ultimately rediscovers his faith in humanity and himself.
“We’re very excited to be back in business with Bryan once again, and feel this project, with the producing expertise of Keith and Andrew and the writing flair of Michael Petroni and Michael Bond, promises to be a real thrill ride,” said Mark Stern. “Given the debate, speculation and mystery surrounding the subject matter, it couldn’t be more timely.”
“I have always been fascinated by the various myths and conspiracy theories surrounding the Mayan Calendar,” said Bryan Singer. “It’s the most accurate calendar created by man, so accurate that many believe its origins may lie elsewhere. Regardless of what you believe, what is truly mysterious about this, is that a number of cultures and religions, including Hinduism, all point toward a period of great upheaval which happens to coincide with the final month and year marked by the calendar. Our story will explore whether we are truly alone in the universe, and other related mysteries, all of which are set against the backdrop of an incredibly exciting and fast-paced adventure.”
“Michael Petroni is a brilliant writer, and when he and Michael Bond brought us this idea, we new instantly that it had the potential to be incredibly provocative, intelligent, and entertaining event programming,” said Andrew Deane.
Action Adventure Was Penned By Zak Penn And Michael Karnow
PASADENA, Calif. – August 5, 2009 – Syfy has ordered the action-adventure 90-minute pilot, Alphas (working title) from writers Zak Penn (X-Men: The Last Stand, Fantastic Four, The Incredible Hulk) and Michael Karnow, it was announced today by Mark Stern, Executive Vice President of Original Programming, Syfy and Co-Head of Content for Universal Cable Productions, which is the studio for the project. Alphas is executive produced by Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun for BermanBraun Television and is expected to commence production in early fall 2009.
Alphas follows a team of ordinary citizens who possess extraordinary and unusual mental skills. Using physical feats and mental trickery, this elite force of heroes take the law into their own hands and uncover what the CIA, FBI and Pentagon have not been able or willing to solve. Each possessing their unique and not always visible power, they alone solve the crime, stop the ticking time bomb and catch the enemy.
“Alphas’ unconventional approach to the traditional superhero genre couldn’t be a better fit for Syfy as we continue to build a programming slate of fun, imaginative entertainment,” said Stern. “Zak and Michael’s dry, naturalistic humor, combined with Gail and Lloyd’s incredible producing leadership promise to make this a very special project.”
“We are pleased to be in business with Syfy and delighted to be extending the reach of our relationships within the NBC Universal family,” said Gail Berman and Lloyd Braun. “Zak and Michael have created a unique and compelling story which we believe the Syfy audience will find both intriguing and entertaining.”
Zak Penn has written and produced many of Hollywood’s top science-fiction blockbuster films including X-Men: The Last Stand, X2: X-Men United, Fantastic Four, The Incredible Hulk and Elektra. He is currently in development on upcoming projects including, The Argonauts, Bermuda Triangle and Spy Hunter.

I was right! I thought I saw a glimpse of Tricia Helfer in the new trailer for Warehouse 13 that ran on SCIFI yesterday!
CASTING SCOOP from EW:
• Former Battlestar Galactica toasters Tricia Helfer and Michael Hogan are staying in Sci Fi’s orbit, signing on to guest star on the net’s new paranormal dramedy Warehouse 13 (premiering July 7). Helfer will play a Chicago-based FBI agent, while Hogan has been cast as the father of Warehouse heroine Myka (Joanne Kelly). In a fun little twist, Hogan’s real-life wife, Susan, will play the role of Myka’s mom. And if that’s not enough BSG for you, Mark Sheppard (who portrayed the Fleet’s morally flexible lawyer, Romo Lampkin) will appear as enigmatic figure who represents the organization that controls the Warehouse.
Tricia Helfer as we previously reported is also appearing in the pilot episode of Flash Forward coming to FOX. She
had a holding deal with FOX prior to the writer’s strike to develop a series with her. She worked for FOX on Burn Notice ( it airs on USA but is a Fox Television production) but I am yet to hear of a Tricia starring series coming up.
Tricia made the number 75 spot on the Maxim Hot 100 and was at their annual party earlier this month.
She has a very grounded attitude about what is sexy and how she sees herself.
Head to our forums to see tons of photos of Tricia and lots of BSG pics!
