New York, NY, August 31, 2009 – “Resistance is futile” this October as Spike TV presents the fourth annual “SCREAM,” the first and only global event of its kind to honor the best in  sci-fi, fantasy, horror and comic genres.  Taping on Saturday, October 17 at The Greek Theater in Los Angeles, CA, “SCREAM 2009” celebrates the hottest films, tv shows, comics, actors, creators, icons and pioneers who have influenced and shaped the industry.  This year’s show will also continue the tradition of featuring exclusive World Premieres from some of the most anticipated movies of 2010.  The two-hour extravaganza will premiere on Spike TV on Tuesday, October 27 (10:00 PM-Midnight, ET/PT).  Presenters and musical performers will be announced shortly.

“Eight out of the 10 highest grossing films of all time are in  the ‘SCREAM’ genres, which is due to the incredible passion and loyalty of these fans,” said Casey Patterson, executive producer of “SCREAM 2009” and senior vice president of event production, talent development and studio relations for Spike TV.  “We’re thrilled to once again to present the only global event honoring their heroes.”

Some of the nominees’ reactions include:

6292_7011668111“Without all of the fans, the claws would have been sheathed a long time ago!  Thank you so much,” said Hugh Jackman after hearing he was nominated for two “SCREAM” awards and “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” was nominated for 13.

“Everyone knows it’s the VILLAINS who have the most fun.  Thanks to the ‘SCREAM’ team and congrats to everyone at ‘True Blood.’  This is very exciting for the whole show,” said Best Villain nominee and star of  HBO’s “True Blood” Alexander Skarsgard.

“Thank you for the nomination and thank you for letting me frighten you.  I look forward to doing it again sometime soon,” said Ryan Kwanten trueblood09_22after hearing he was nominated for Best Horror Actor for his role as Jason Stackhouse on “True Blood.”

“Getting nominated for kissing a Vulcan is a better fate than logic,” said “Star Trek’s” Zoe Saldana after getting word she received two “SCREAM” Awards nominations for Best Breakout Performance: Female and Best Science Fiction Actress.

J.J. Abrams’ Sci-Fi action-adventure “Star Trek” tops the list with 17 nominations including The Ultimate Scream, Best Science Fiction Movie, Best Director, Best Ensemble, Holy Sh*t Scene of the Year and a nod in the all-new Fight-to-the-Death Scene of the Year category.  Comic book-inspired blockbusters “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” and “Watchmen” each nabbed 13 nominations, while HBO’s vampire-themed television series “True Blood” garnered nine nominations.  A full list of categories and nominations are included below.

Ballots were sent out to Spike TV’s “SCREAM 2009” advisory board, consisting of some of the most respected and well-known members of the horror, sci-fi, fantasy and comic book worlds who were responsible for advising on categories and determining nominees in each category.  All films, television shows and comic books were deemed eligible for inclusion if they were released between August 9, 2008 and July 15, 2009 and were representative of the genres listed.  Winners will be determined by online voting at scream.spike.com.

Esteemed members of this year’s advisory board* include:

Eric Kripke talked to the CW Source at Comic Con and spilled some season 5 news

From EW with Ausiello:

Question: Do you have any spoilers for Supernatural? —Manny
Ausiello: Ever wonder what Sam would be like if he was totally evil? You’ll find out in episode 4.

The CW Source and BuddyTV talked to Jim Beaver at Comic Con

FROM Watch with Kristin

Eleanor in Salt Lake City: Any new news on Supernatural?
Jim Beaver told us to expect a huge Bobby-related twist early in Supernatural’s fifth season. He says, “There’s something pretty big that happens with Bobby in the first episodes. Really big. It’s going to have a huge impact on his relationship with the boys—but I don’t know what that impact is, because I’ve only seen the first three scripts.”

Source: E!Online

Paris Hilton will have a small guest starring role on an upcoming episode- here is the scoop related to this news:
Details about Hilton’s role are being kept under wraps, but we are advised that freaking out is not necessary. A source close to the show tells us: “The fans should trust [show runner] Eric Kripke.” (We’ve heard the storyline, and when you see it you will die. It’s awesome.)

Source: E!Online

In Wednesday, Watch With Kristin broke the news that Paris Hilton would be guest-starring on “Supernatural.”

This season on the show, Sam and Dean Winchester will be facing down the Satan himself and the Apocalypse. Could the arrival of Paris, in Episode 5 of Season 5, be the scariest aspect of “Supernatural’s” End Times?

Headband Actually, as is so often the case on “Supernatural,” the whole thing has a comedic side to it. I got a bit more info from creator/executive producer Eric Kripke and executive producer Sera Gamble regarding the starlet’s appearance on the CW show, which returns Sept. 10.

“If anyone ever wanted to see a bloodthirsty Paris attack and kill somebody, this is your chance,” said Kripke, who added that he was “quite frankly shocked that Paris agreed to do it.”

“We wrote the role just for her,” Gamble said. “We’re very excited that she said yes. She plays the role of a demonic creature that takes the form of… Paris Hilton. If you know our style, you know we go pretty funny and irreverent with this stuff, so–expect that. The fact that she wanted to do the episode speaks volumes about her sense of humor. She’s flat-out awesome for playing along. You’ll see.”

Misha Collins talks to the CW Source at Comic Con and spills some news

Misha Collins Spoke to FanBolt at Comic Con:

Interview:
We had a chance to chat with Misha Collins from Supernatural about his role as Castiel, what the new season has in store for him, about the pranks on the set, and about his recent bike accident. Here’s what the actor had to say:

How are you?

Misha Collins: Well, I’ve been in the hospital. I crashed on my bicycle going about 55 miles per hour. I’ve already gotten the, “You are stupid.”

Were you wearing a helmet?

Misha Collins: Yes, I was.

Well, then you’re not stupid.

Misha Collins: Well, crashing going 55 is stupid. In my opinion.

Only if you do it on purpose.

Misha Collins: No, I didn’t do it on purpose.

So you’re a little banged up?

Misha Collins: I’m a little banged up. I didn’t break anything. I just tore some muscles, and I’m missing a lot of skin. My shirts are sticking to my scabs.

Then why are you wearing a shirt?

Misha Collins: Yeah, ha [laughs].

You’re being a method actor because Castiel was basically destroyed at the end of last season and you show up like –.

Misha Collins: Exactly, I wanted to know what that felt like.

You can use that in your work.

Misha Collins: I am, and I am using that to negotiate for better pay.

Adam West talks Batman and Family Guy, Julie Newmar talks Catwoman

Monday, August 10th, 2009

This pair of interviews are from July 17 when Adam and Julie were in Syracuse for the Syracuse Nationals where the Batmobile was on display. Adam is so funny! He is still a fan favorite and was one of the busiest stars on autograph row at Comic Con in San Diego a week later. Julie Newmar was a dancer – which was unusual for a tall actress. She is also known as playing Dorkus- one of the seven brides in the classic musical Seven Brides for Seven Brothers.
