Tempe Arizona was the big winner in the contest to get your home town premiere for the new movie X-Men Origins Wolverine and the cast came to town this evening to premiere the movie at the Cine Capri theater in Tempe. This is one of the Harkins theaters- if you haven’t been to a Cine Capri and you live in the valley- it is great! I have tried to see all of my big movies at them. The screens are huge and the seats nice and extra big and cushy- think movies done first class. Harkins is a privately owned local chain of theaters- they are nice and big and for the most part new. Fox execs were on hand for the premiere- making this a true Hollywood outside of Hollywood experience.
On hand for the premiere were of course Hugh Jackman who rolled into the premiere on a big black Harley Davidson- and yes he is being legal- there is no helmet law here in Arizona so he could go sans helmet- also joining him were Taylor Kitsch, Liev Schreiber, Lynn Collins, Ryan Reynolds and will.i.am . Local celebs on hand included rock legend and Phoenix resident Alice Cooper and American Idol top ten finalist Scott MacIntyre who is an ASU graduate. Arizona State University showed up for the big show with the Sun Devil cheerleaders showing some Pac Ten spirit.
