24 Season 7 Pulse Check by Kate Blake- admin Multipleverse
If you missed this week’s episode Hour 5 of 24- you missed an incredibly tense hour. One of the things that cracks me up about 24 are the spoilers and promos- “Jack takes things into his own hands as the terrorist threat gets worse and the president is under tremendous pressure” – these types of non-spoiler spoilers could apply to any episode of 24 from any season- ever ! This is part of what I like about the show. They have a formula and it works well. What changes is the nature of the terror threat, the methods used and the hoops Jack has to jump through to save the day. This time Jack is in the middle of the terrorists and having to show them his level of commitment in order to infiltrate their organization and try to get the mysterious CIP device that is being used to hold America hostage by the Sangalans who don’t want the US to invade Sangala.
This year the big switch is that we have a woman president and her husband is getting into deep trouble
proving that his son was murdered and did not commit suicide. I guess someone realized that having two living Lively siblings on against each other on Monday night would be too many blonds on one night of the week so Eric Lively who played the president’s son in the 24 Redemption film was written off with an off screen suicide before the season began. ( Eric’s little sis is Blake “Gossip Girl” Lively for those of you without teenagers.)
Annie Wersching is doing a bang up job as FBI Agent Renee Walker. Her character is the kind of tough female 
agent not usually seen on TV. She’s made some big mistakes and is determined to make up for them. If Annie looks familiar to Multipleverses readers- she was on the Supernatural episode “Playthings” she was the single mom Dean tried to get Sammy interested in. Ah Dean Winchester…yes his classy comment ” bet you could get some MILF action there” – I’m sure she is thrilled to know that at 30 she falls in that category.
Cherry Jones is doing well according to TV Guide after having gall bladder surgery last week. I am enjoying President Allison Taylor and can’t wait to see what happens when she realizes there are those very close to her that have betrayed her. Cherry is featured in TV Guide this week in this cool feature about how her Oval Office is decorated.
