THE WORST KIND OF MONSTER — Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) investigate the appearance of a young female ghost (guest star) in an abandoned house, but things become more complicated when a family moves in. The brothers fail to get the family to leave, but when the son is kidnapped though the walls, they look to Sam and Dean to rescue the boy. Kim Manners directed the episode written by Jeremy Carver (#3T7511).

The first half of this season’s Supernatural has pretty much been The Dean Winchester & Castiel Show featuring guest appearances by Jared Padalecki’s Sam. Is this a trend that you see continuing? — Eric
MATT: I know, people are still smarting from “In the Beginning,” right? This I can tell you: When the season resumes on Jan. 15, the first two episodes are equal parts Dean and Sam (with the first entry being gloriously dark and scary). But what Jared fans should most look forward is the third outing, “After School Special,” in which both teen and modern-day Sam experience much emotional upheaval.

I’m hearing of an amazing episode in the new year about reapers in a small town who are getting killed, so Sam and Dean become ghosts to travel in the ghost world and figure out what’s going on. As long as they don’t put white sheets over my pretty boys’ faces, I’m in!
