The Associated Press released a nice article talking to Bridget and Craig about doing LEGEND and the duo revealed some info about one of the cool epic looking promo sequences from the promos:
T
hough the production is based in Auckland, most scenes are shot in the great outdoors, on the city’s pristine outskirts or as far afield as 1,000 kilometres south in the mountainous region around Queenstown.
Regan: “We were dropped off by a helicopter on top of a mountain!”
Horner: “A mountain, man! With mountain goats!”
Regan: “And they said, ‘All right, Craig, just jam the sword into the ground’-”
Horner: “-’a chopper’s gonna fly over and you gotta jam it at the right time!”‘
Regan: “You can’t see anything around you, and the makeup artists are hiding behind a shrub, and that’s it.”
Horner: “You have to just be wearing your character’s vest, this open-neck thing, and you can’t wear a coat. And it was cold!”
But there are also warm currents flowing, like between Richard and Kahlan. Early on, Zedd got all chaperone-y on them, lecturing Richard that romance with Kahlan “can never be.” This is a sacred mission, not a booty call!
And yet … along with fantasy, mystery, action and adventure, “Legend of the Seeker” has its flirtatious moments.
Regan (smiling saucily): “We have some scenes where the good old wizard is sleeping.”
Horner: “We have the odd glance over the firelight.”
Regan: “It CAN’T happen.”
Horner: “But you can’t fight nature. Or at least longings.”
“Ummmmm,” the two of them murmur in moony unison. “Yeah!”
Hee hee – nice to know that our leads completely understand the whole Kahlan/Richard dynamic and are fully embracing the pain that is Richard/Kahlan’s undying and torturous love.
IGN has a nice positive review up for BOUNTY.
A fan of the show asked TV Guide’s Matt Rousche if he knew how LEGEND was fairing: Does negative reaction to Legend of the Seeker make a second season less likely? I know many fans of the book are harshly speaking out against the series, but I love the show.
Click here for his rather blah and uninformed answer.
Yawn, Matt you just don’t get the show - yes the book purists were initially up in arms and many still are (Legend will never please everyone) however, after BRENNIDON the tides seem to be turning in the shows favor. I spent today perusing different fanboards (other than our own which all unanimously loved the episode) and the overall tone is that BRENNIDON showed that the writers on the show are still honoring the books, even though they’re just telling the story in a different way. Much of the small fanbase is turning rabid (in a good way) which is great news for the young series.
New Episode Title:
Sword-of-Truth believes that the title for Episode 01×10 is Confession. It also looks like new episodes will be on hiatus for a couple of weeks in December – that’s not anything to stress over, most networks don’t air new episodes during Christmas.
