Today has been all about organizing everything I got at Comic Con! Tons of video and news- I will be posting all kinds of good stuff all week. A quick recap of Sunday day 3 for us on the final day. We were at the convention center by 8:30 to get in line for the Smallville panel and met lots of other enthusiastic Smallville fans while on the trolley and waiting in line. This panel and the one after it Supernatural attracted a lot of people who had one day passes and only came to see these two shows speaker panels.
It was kids day so there were lots of families in attendance both in the panel halls where we were and all over the convention center. I had spoken to two Disney employees while in line for the BSG panel the day before who said they were really gearing up for their Sunday presentations.
Smallville had some kids in line but most of the people in the line were adults- and not young adults! This has been an online beef with Smallville for some time. They are on a network that is youth oriented to the point of doing what ever they can stunt wise to attract young viewers but a recent mediaweek study showed that the average age of a Smallville viewer is 38. Smack dab in the middle of the 18-49 demographic most networks love to get. This group was well represented at the panel. A full accounting of the panel and discussion will be on OSCK- you can view the first five minutes of the panel and download it from Veoh . I got this one up today along with all of my Sarah Connor footage which you can find at the Sarah Connor Society.
After Smallville came Supernatural- which did not disappoint. Lots of spoilers to come- I will post the full panel plus clips tomorrow.
We left early to drive home and decided this year was our learning year- next year we will plan even further out than March which we did this year and we will definitely go for the entire 4 days. Comic Con has become the premiere US destination event for fans of SciFi TV, movies and comics.
