Yesterday was a full day for SCI FI TV. We arrived around 8:30 to make sure we would be there plenty early for the Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles panel and ended up going to the panel that was in the room it was scheduled for that ran before it. This was the panel for BEN 10 which is an animated show on the Cartoon Network. It was pretty entertaining. The series has been fast forwarded 5 years and is now more of a teen alien show than the kids alien show it started out as. One thing that is interesting, at these panels a lot of the questions from the crowd are pretty inane. Ben 10 had some great pointed and SPECIFIC questions and the ones that really put the showrunners on the spot were the ones that came from kids! The kids ROCKED!
Second panel of the day was our very much anticipated Sarah Connor Chronicles panel. HUGE spoiler was released very early on with the news that one of the characters on the stage would die this season! Full cast was in attendance with Lena Headey, Thomas Dekker, Summer Glau, Brian Austin Green, Garrett Dellahunt, Richard T Jones and Shirley Manson as well as showrunners Josh Friedman and John Wirth and TERMINATOR master James Middleton. Josh moderated the panel and every single cast member had a great question to answer about thier character and their role. Shirley got an enthusiastic response from her fans who were there in the audience supporting her. Love the rockers coming out for a sci-fi show! See The Sarah Connor Society for Erika’s detailed write up on the panel. Our full video coverage should be up tomorrow when we get home.
Next up I headed across the venue to get in line. The line was initially a Dollhouse line but when it was packed and nobody else was being let in it became the BSG panel line. I saw Ron Moore walking through the hall as I stood in line wiating which was cool. Finally we got in and the panel FRAKKING rocked! The cast was well represented along with the creative forces behind the show. Ron Moore, David Eick, James Callis, Tricia Helfer, Katee Sackhoff, Michael Trucco , Jamie Bamber were all there and Kevin Smith moderated the panel! My favorite Kevin Smith question to Ron and David was whether they were working on a swear word substitue for cock……ucker to go along with frak. They said to watch for it in Caprica.
Video and more on my day to follow tomorrow! I also hit Chuck and Fringe. Downstairs at the end of the day we saw Justin Hartley the Green Arrow on Smallville at the WB booth- you can see a couple of pics of him at OSCK.
Off to see Smallville and Supernatural now!
