Peter Buchman (Che Guevara) wrote the screenplay, which is described as an updated re-imagining of the story about a group of astronauts on an abortive mission to Mars.
Elliott Gould and James Brolin starred in the original, which was written and directed by Peter Hyams. O.J. Simpson played a supporting role.
Moore helmed 20th Century Fox’s upcoming video-game adaptation Max Payne.
