September Start for Fox

There will be no prison breaks until Labor Day, Fox announced Thursday.

The network, which last month announced a fall season start of Aug. 25 with a two-hour episode of “Prison Break” will now present it a week later on Sept. 1, which is Labor Day this year.

Everything else previously scheduled for the last week of August has also been bumped until September in a super-sized premiere weeks that also includes two hour premieres for “Bones” Sept. 3 and two hour premieres of a couple of game shows that probably shouldn’t be longer than a half hour in the first place, “The Moment of Truth” Sept. 4 and “Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?” Sept. 5.

“Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles” gets a second season start Sept. 8. J.J. Abrams’ new “Fringe” (whose promos are already at the saturation level, three months early) comes on Sept. 9 with its own two hour premiere, and the comedies “Til Death” and the new “Do Not Disturb” start their seasons Sept. 10.

Seven years later, it’s probably not in bad taste to have the season premiere of “Kitchen Nightmares” alongside “The Moment of Truth” on Sept. 11, but there you have it.

“Don’t Forget the Lyrics” premieres Sept. 12; a new season for “House” starts Sept. 16, and the new seasons for the Sunday night cartoon lineup of “The Simpsons,” “King of the Hill” “Family Guy” and “American Dad” comes on Sept. 28.
