Intro by Kate Blake, Admin and Editor MV
Supernatural’s pickup for season 4 came early this year and as a result there wasn’t any real new ground that was covered at the CW upfronts yesterday about the series. No cast members were present at the event that was totally focused on the network’s soap and female programming line up. The one bit of information that came out was that this season Smallville will run through its first batch of episodes then be pulled from Thursday night so that Reaper can be paired with Supernatural to try to tie to the two shows together. The network tried pulling Supernatural repeats and got huge fan backlash this winter when it put Reaper in its spot. With Smallville previous season episodes running on the new WB.com maybe they think they won’t get this backlash this time- I do not know. I do believe that showing series without breaks and without long runs of repeats and no advertisement of when new shows are coming is a mistake. Maybe this approach will overcome that ratings hurdle. The season 4 announcement to advertisers is pretty much what we would expect- with a summary of where we are aka “The Road so Far”. The Supernatural and Smallville season finales are this Thursday on the CW- make sure you tune in!
9:00-10:00 P.M “SUPERNATURAL”
Returning for its fourth season, this haunting series follows Sam and Dean Winchester, two brothers bound by tragedy and blood to their dangerous, other-worldly mission. This past season, the clock was ticking as Sam and Dean journeyed into the dark world of the unexplained to find a way to break Dean’s deadly contract with the evil Lilith. The series stars Jared Padalecki as Sam Winchester and Jensen Ackles as Dean Winchester. SUPERNATURAL is from Warner Bros. Television in association with Kripke Enterprises Inc. and Wonderland Sound and Vision, with executive producers Eric Kripke (”Boogeyman”), McG (”Charlie’s Angels,” “The O.C.”), Robert Singer (”Midnight Caller”) and Kim Manners (”The X-Files”).
